Emily Rigby - Making 10% time effective
Part of building a great team and product is creating space for engineers to expand their learning about new tools and process, and think creatively about how to improve their day to day through automating manual tasks, refactoring and adding new tests and features. We always say we will create space for this work but it is so easy to get distracted by more urgent tasks. 10% time is the perfect space for this thinking but how do you make sure you get the most out of it? I will be sharing some lessons learned from the 10% time I have organised with my teams and also some of the innovative projects that have come out of it.
